On this date–March, 16, 1966–Kappa Phi President Woody Cornwell completed and submitted the official petition to become Delta Epsilon chapter of Kappa Alpha Order at Newberry College. That petition will be on display, along with other chapter memorabilia, at the 50th celebration April 2, 2016, at the David A. Chase House in the Woods.
Over the past 50 years, the heritage of the chapter has become richer each year, and it is time to celebrate! See attachment, please. It includes a reservation form for the Shrimp Boil 50th Celebration.
- First, mark your calendar for April 2 and send in your registration (bottom of attachment).
- Next, get updates and pay your dues at www.deltaepsilon.org
- Finally, show up, reconnect, and have a grand old time!
Many of you do not know who I am or why I am sending this email. I am the fifth Delta Epsilon Rose, and I have loved the chapter for almost 50 years, having arrived at Newberry in 1967. I have planned several “old folks” reunions for the chapter, so I volunteered to send out this reminder. At the Old South celebration in August of 2014, I was unofficially named the “permanent” Rose for the alumni.
I am providing my official “Rose” picture for those who don’t know me, but please understand that I look quite different almost 50 years later. (I still love receiving roses from my KAs).
Please take care of this RSVP today. The planners need to have an accurate count for food by March 28. Most importantly, we want you there! You can contact David Jolly (alumni association president) directly to let him know you are coming: email@example.com
The South shall rise again on April 2, 2016!
