Spring Semester begins at Newberry College

Hello brothers,

My name is Tyler Stasky and I am the newly appointed Number V, or historian, for Delta Epsilon Chapter. I’m writing in hopes that you all had a Happy Holidays and are enjoying the new year. As brothers and students are returning to campus to start the spring semester, I wanted to write you all and tell you a little more about myself, so that you can get to know me on a more personal level, along with what we have going on in the active chapter, and some of our goals for the upcoming semester.

As I said my name is Tyler Stasky, I am from Mount Pleasant, South Carolina and am a Junior student athlete playing football here at Newberry. I was initiated into the chapter in the spring of 2013 and have held the position of Number VIII or Sergeant at Arms. You can reach me by my email tyler.stasky@newberry.edu with any comments, questions, or suggestions you may have for or about the chapter.

For an update of the active chapter we had 3 brothers graduate this December, and are looking to kick off the spring semester with our 7 new brothers from Fall Rush who were initiated on November 16th . We had a great turn out from alumni and want to encourage you to join us again later in the year for our spring initiation. Before the Holiday Break the chapter casted our votes and elected a new executive council. Tyler Hook, our former number V was elected to President and looks forward to a great semester increasing our chapter GPA and has great ideas for the future. Our former president Andrew Smith had a great term and helped lead our chapter to great success, where we participated in multiple community service events which ranged from helping at the local boys farm with construction of a fence, to walking in the local town parade where we brought back an old tradition of being santa and his reindeer.

As a chapter our goal is to give 10 prospective gentlemen bids this semester for our spring pledge class and are open to any suggestions pertaining to potential rushee names. If you do have a suggestion feel free to email me their name, phone number, and any additional information we may need to know about them. Also we began discussion about Shrimp Boil and I will keep y’all updated the more I know myself.

Gentlemen thank you for your time and I look forward to developing a relationship with you all and hearing back from you. Feel free to email me anytime and if you come in contact with brothers who do not receive updates about the chapter acquire their email for me so that I can add them to this list.

Fraternally,

Tyler Stasky
