At the Newberry College Alumni Association Meeting at Homecoming it was announced that Charlie Banks, DE past No 1 and current Graves Province Commander, was awarded the Phillip Kelly, Jr. Outstanding Young Alumni Award. Congrats to Charlie and his family.
The Delta Epsilon Alumni Meeting was held outside Wiles Chapel at 12 noon. Updates on the Active Chapter, The Alumni Assoc, the Graves Province, and a report from the Delta Epsilon Foundation were given. Also an update on finances of the Association was reported by the Treasurer. There were also election of officers for the coming year. A report from the new Association President is below.
In other news, the family of Brother Mark Taylor, DE’66, has announced that a $100,000 endowed scholarship has been established to honor his memory. Beginning in 2020 the College will award 4 scholarships for $1,000 each to deserving students. This is a great way to remember and honor Mark.

As many of you may know Newberry College completed its annual homecoming celebrations this past weekend, crowned with a commanding victory on the football filed by our Wolves (Indians). This weekend also played host to our annual Delta Epsilon Alumni Association meeting. During this meeting the alumni chapter discussed the state of the House in the Woods, the annual financial report, and the state of the chapter both active and alumni.
During the annual meeting, the alumni chapter additionally held its elections. The following officers were elected to lead the Delta Epsilon Alumni Association for the 2020 calendar year:
